A life of love.
Tamy Haro was born Gertrude Valdez in Hanford, California on March 7th, 1934. Everyone knew her as Tamy. Tamy passed away suddenly on January 10, 2023. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life of 69 years, Jess Haro, her five children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
Tamy grew up working with her family picking grapes in the Central Valley. It was a happy childhood, filled with love, alongside her three brothers and three sisters. In her youth, she enjoyed sports, playing softball for the Hanford Queens, a San Francisco Giants fan, and loved going to the local dances. She had a career working nights at IBM in assembly and inventory control for over 25 years. She did this while raising her five children. Tamy was the heart of the Haro family providing love, strength, stability and acceptance.
Together, with her husband, they helped couples deepen their bond with each other and God as Marriage Encounter coordinators. For 40 years, they made a tremendous positive impact in the lives of thousands of people across the nation and Latin America.
Tamy was a dancing queen. She loved bringing family and friends together and found any reason to celebrate. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally, spending time with them in the kitchen or calling just to say hello. She mailed cards to her great-grandchildren on their birthdays. Tamy always thought of others before herself.
She was an unending source of wisdom, love and affection for her family and friends. She healed wounds and brought peace with her empathy and compassion. Tamy was fearless in her love. She always knew the right thing to do or say, and she did it and said it.
We will forever cherish her selfless, humble, loving spirit.
